Edith Bowman
This jingle begins with some sort of random noise which seems to be gradually speeding up and the name 'Edith Bowman' played over the top in different voices. A clip of her show with her speaking is also played which is the sound of her being enthusiastic and speaking to somebody on the phone. This sort of action would welcome in listeners instead of them being scared away if the voice was intimidating or wierd. The jingle shows a normal pop style beat in the background which suits the style of the show and what it is all about. This jingle is short and catchy and i believe that people could easily remember it as it is so short. It has quite a mass market audience as most people enjoy listening to the Charts and Pop music of such. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00gq59q/Edith_Bowman_19_01_2009/
Westwood Jingle
The jingle starts with a loud horn then mixes into a stutter then into a little bit of pre recorded speach to sort of introduce the show is played over a slight beat. It then makes an engine starting noise which speeds up, meanwhile a crowd cheer is heard in the background. A selection of different people's voices is then played over the top of the crowd noises saying 'turn it up' then the main american style voice speaks ' the UK's number one DJ'. Loads of different voices which seem to be played live say the DJ's name Tim Westwood which is a good introduction into the show because it shows that a lot of different people listen to the show and know what the show is about. The name Westwood is mixed and repeated similtaniously loads of times which is ended by a silence and an exploding noise which seems to be quite stuttered and mixed into different noises such as horns. The first track is then played after this jingle. This jingle very much suits the style and nature of the show as is intended as hip hop artist's voices are played over the top and the style of conversation and dialogue chosen is quite rough and in the hip hop style. The clip can be found on http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00gq1hq
