Evaluation
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
I feel that my radio jingle fullfilled the criteria set. I made an opening jingle to a radio show, welcomed the show and the guest and played and archive sound clip. It has catchy beats and sound effects which i think would catch the targeted listeners attention.
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
As my radio jingle is targeted to people in the younger generation i feel that they would have enjoyed it in a way that would make them want to listen to the show again. I tried to catch the attention of the listener by playing short sound clips of random noises and effects which i thin would have interested and amused them.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
There is not really a main institution that i made my jingle for but i suppose it could be played as the school radio show.
Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my radio product would be younger people aged 14 to 20. I think that they would be interested by my jingle and would make them want to listen to it again.
How did you attract/address your audience?
The ways in which i attracted their attention and addressed them was by playing upbeat beats and tunes that i think they would have enjoyed. I managed to put a few little loud noises and effects into it aswell so that they do not get bored with a repetitive beat and tune.
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I have learnt to use a new product on the Apple macs which was Garage Band. I felt that it was really easy to use and did not have any problems with it. I found that the program helped you through each stage and things were really easy to find on the program.

Making
This picture just shows all the different beats and effects available. I found that there was a wide selection of different effects which suited different styles of jingle
This is just the overall layout and finished mix of my jingle. There are lots of different layers because i put random little sound clips to suit the style of my jingle. The wavy line under the layer shows the different volumes of the layer which was usefull if you wanted to fade things in and out and have different loudnesses.
This is just the last bit of my radio jingle where i have the speach mixing in with the different effects and beats. You can see how i have faded beats into eachother and faded sound clips out. The layers in the middle are the archive soundclip displaying noises of the sea such as waves, paddling and seagulls. I thought that they went well together with the beats and the voiceover.
This is just showing the different styles and effects used on the mix. The effects such as 'zapper' were achieved by using the sound effects toolbar which is situated to the right of the screen. There was a lot of choice to choose from which i found helpful but i only used a couple of selected styles for my final jingle.

Plan
I will begin by making an introductory part to the jingle which will include a beat which will be repeated for about 10 o 15 seconds. Over the top i am going to play random different noises and other beats which will hopefully amuse and interest the listener and make them keep on listening to the show. After the introduction i will have a short welcome bit of speach which will last around 5 to 10 seconds and will include myself introducing the show and the guest of that day. After this there will be an archive clip to end the jingle. The whole thing should last between 30 to 40 seconds.
Target Audience
The audience that i am trying to target in my jingle is that of young people between the ages of 13 and 20 who enjoy young people things and up beat popular music. As it is targeting young people then it will have a fast beat with different overlays that will interest the listeners and keep them listening to the show. I think that my radio jingle will be set in contrast with a radio station such as radio 4 that has a classical music sort of theme and targets people of the older generation.
Chris Moyles
The starting part of the song is quite relaxed and calm which is good for a morning show because people do not really want an up beat fast jingle to wake up to. The opening part to the jingle is very long and starts to get a bit repetitive, but as the singing starts to begin and Moyles starts to talk you start to get into the jingle. I think that this intro is too long until the presenters begin to start talking about their show and i think that people may get a bit bored with it. It starts to get interesting and better when the music starts to kick in and the presenters start to talk which is what is good about the jingle.
